I am providing a list of Cholas from 3020 BCE based on Puranas and the evidence from the copperplates,Chola Inscriptions belonging to Chola period.

Even this may not be accurate as Chera King Udiyan Cheralaathan , Chola and Pandya Kings took part in the Kurukshetra war in the Mahabharata.

As Ramayana also refers to these Kings the date may be pushed back to somewhere around 5000 BC.

List of Chola Kings as indicated by Puranas.

  1. Great one sir,
i have a doubt related to Tamil Brahmi system..
1)what written format we used before brahmi and how we adopted to it
2)what is the oldest inscription made in tamil

    1. There are three brahmi scripts for which I have found evidence and written on them. Sanskrit Brahmi Tamil and Kannada Brahmi. Kannada brahmi inscription is dated two million years and ihave written on this as well. Well, knowing Tamil being quoted Vedas and Tamil Brahmi being found in Harappa your guess is good as mine. Anothet fact is I have touched only Tamil and Kannada. Who knows what lies in store in other languages!Regards.
