Best Countries For Women
Character Familial Ties,Looking after Children/Parents/Husband- these parameters?
Well, depends on your value system.
Women certified under the parameters listed are, no doubt, to be admired but not to be married to.
“When it comes to one’s opportunities as a woman, location really matters. A country’s policies, economics and social conventions dictate a woman’s access to education, gainful employment, healthcare, eligible mates and personal safety. So which countries offer their female citizens the best quality of life?
A new poll, conducted by Trust Law, a Thomson Reuters legal news service, set out to answer that question. 370 gender and development experts were surveyed about their perceptions of each of the Group of 20 (G20) countries — minus the EU which has member status in the G20 but encompasses multiple countries. The nations were then ranked from best to worst for women based on these results. Sadly, the United States didn’t even make it into the top five.
The rankings were based on six different categories, reported TrustLaw. These were:
1. Quality of health
2. Freedom from violence
3. Political participation
4. Workplace opportunities
5. Access to resources (i.e. education, property rights)
6. Freedom from trafficking and slavery
“The countries that made it into the top five are all highly-developed, Western nations. Unsurprisingly, access to quality health care was a prime factor in determining Canada’s number one placement. HuffPost Canada reported that 75 percent of women ages 15 to 49 have access to and use contraception. In addition to health care, Canadian women graduate from universities at higher rates than men do, and one-third of federal judges are female. “Canada leads the pack with its promotion of women’s access and opportunities across various sectors of society, including education, economic participation and health care,” Sarah Degnan Kambou, president of the International Center for Research on Women in Washington, said to TrustLaw.

Dhobe’s Pub Raid in Mumbai Bar. What’s Wrong?
The arrest , detention and subsequent release of 11 women on suspicion of prostitution has evoked strong protests.
The released women have sued for damage of Rs. One crore for wrongful detention.
By way of explanation the Commissioner Dhobe stated that the ‘Birth day party’ was a cover for prostitution.
The males were charged Rs. 3000 as entry fee while the it was free for women.
The times of India news report( 13 June 2012 page 11 Bangalore Edition) bemoans that the Free Admission for females is a marketing strategy!
I know of hotels (Five Star) fixing up entry fee for males and free entry to women for special occasions like New Year and for fixed programmes in the year.
Pray tell me why this concern?
In some cases, the courtesy is extended only to Single females.
I know a Five Star Hotel in the heart of Chennai conducts a Male Cabaret Show on fixed days and only Ladies are allowed.
This is also a marketing strategy?
For what?
The Hotel Industry is helping women to emancipate themselves?
Every one knows what happens in these parties.
If you mix with people of dubious character , you will be called as one.
How do you expect the Police to know who is a prostitute?
By visiting them personally in each case?
Circumstantial evidence, it is called.
Another grouse is that working women want to’ relax”in a bar!
Very well
Look at what happens to t women in a pub or near about?
“GURGAON: In yet another assault on a woman near a pub in Gurgaon, a 23-year-old mother was allegedly gangraped by seven men after being abducted from outside the Sahara Mall on M G Road at 2.30 am on Monday.
“
GURGAON: The curb on stag entry at pubs and night clubs in Gurgaon has spawned a new culture, which has served to corrupt more than cleanse. There are scores of women escorts hanging around pubs, waiting to help a ‘single’ man gain entry in return for big money. And the business is booming with police turning a blind eye.
The escorts ensure easy entry for single men who pay them anywhere between Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 depending on the services offered. They share the dance floor and even share a drink with their clients.

Still want to a Bar for ‘Relaxation?”
Those who advocate this type of freedom and Tweet sarcastically, may ask themselves’ Will I send my wife/sister/daughter to these bars/pubs?”
‘Living in’ ,’Ditching’ Is it Rape?
People enter into a Live in relationshiponly to avoid the responsibilities that accompany a marriage ,with a clear intention of ditching when it suits them.
They hide behind nonsensical statements like, ‘want to know the partner well’ and the like.
How many people, despite living matrimony have understood their spouses?
It is impossible to understand another human being.
You adjust and make compromises, that’s Life.
Do we understand ourselves?
Now to the issue of rape.
Both the partners have indulged in sexual intercourse by consent.
If the live in relationship breaks ,how does earlier intercourse becomes a rape?
It looks as if even married couple have to sign a bond consenting for sexual intercourse!
Again can not a Man claim the same privilege?(!)
Sheer nonsense.
You have entered into a relationship knowing the full implication.
One does not marry to remain a monk nor a woman a nun.
Please read my blog on rape.
A Delhi-based computer professional had no qualms in maintaining a live-in relationship for 8 years with a girl but when it came to marrying her, he quickly fell into the customary caste-based obligation to tie the knot with another girl chosen by his parents. Married just three months ago, now he faces rape charges brought against him by the erstwhile live-in partner. His last hope for protection against arrest went up in smoke on Friday as a vacation bench of the Supreme Court dismissed his bail plea.
Petitioner’s counsel argued that the erstwhile live-in partner had never complained of rape during the 8 year relationship and has filed a complaint with police accusing him of raping her only after learning that he was getting married.
A bench of Justices Deepak Verma and S J Mukhopadhaya said “for 8 years you remained together and now you have ditched her to marry another. That could be a reason for the complaint. But you face the charge.”
The two met in 2004 and stayed together as live-in partners towards the end of 2011. But, the man chickened out when his family and society opposed the match on the ground that the girl did not belong to the caste in which he could get married.
As soon as the girl came to know that he was going to marry another chosen by his parents, she filed a complaint with the police on February 4, just eight days before the date of his marriage. The counsel said the family elders intervened and settled the matter. The girl withdrew her complaint on February 8.
The boy got married on February 12 and the former live-in partner went to Mandawali police station on March 1 insisting on registration of her complaint accusing him of repeatedly raping her on the promise of marriage.
With the trial court and the Delhi High Court refusing to grant him bail, he had moved the Supreme Court seeking relief on the ground, among others, that he had been married just three months ago.
Women Model Finalist…… A Man!
Truth is Stranger than Fiction.
The Organisers are better off insisting on a Sex Certificate from a Doctor.
But if the Doctor is in cahoots with the participant..?
Well, the time-tested method is always there.
PRETTY Angkookrat Warangnam beat hundreds of women to make it into the final of a modelling competition – and then shocked organisers by revealing she was a man.
Thai lady boy Angkookrat, known as Toon, was one of 200 ‘women’ to enter the Brighton‘s Next Hot Model contest.
Shy Toon sailed through the preliminary rounds, wowing judges with her deep brown eyes, long dark hair and slimline figure.
After being given the green light by every member of the panel, the Lady Boys of Bangkok star, 26, revealed that she was born a man.
Organiser Scott Woolgar said: “During the selection process it did not cross any of our minds for a minute that she was a man.
“I know a lot of judges showed pictures to friends and family to get a bit of help and nobody twigged.
“When we were deciding who to put through to the final she was on everybody’s list. Everyone thought she was one of the prettiest girls.
“The competion is based on approach, looks and personality and Toon has all of that. It is about beauty pure and simple regardless of whether Toon was born male or female.
“We believe beauty is more than skin deep and would be honoured to have Toon in our final.”
Bangkok-born Toon, who has performed with the popular touring show for three years, will go head-to-head with eleven fellow finalists on the catwalk next Friday (May 25).
