Kamal Press Conference Viswaroopam Ban Video

In Tamils, Islam, movie-hindi on January 30, 2013 at 14:18

At a Press conference conducted  this morning Actor Kamal Hassan alleged Political conspiracy to ban his Film Viswaroopam.

Though an Interim stay was ordered by the High Court of madras, ,he said, the Chennai Police chased people away, refused permission to screen the Film  asking for the order in Physical Form.

He felt that he was being chased out of Tamil Nadu and hoped to settle anywhere else, be it Kerala or some other sate.

If no other State was prepared to accept he planned to settle abroad.

He also stated that he had hocked his house and was likely to lose it if did not meet his lender’s time line.

‘A visibly emotional Kamal Haasan held a press conference on Wednesday in Chennai. The actor and filmmaker alleged the ban onVishwaroopam was a sheer political game and he would be compelled to leave the country if the harassment persists.

Vishwaroopam was originally scheduled to release in Tamil Nadu on January 25 but the TN government imposed a 2 week ban on the film after a few Muslim outfits complained that the film contains a few objectionable scenes. Reacting to this Kamal Haasan said that the ban on Vishwaroopam was a ‘cultural terrorism’.

My reply.

Hurts Minorities.

No body gets hurt when ever a Terrorist Bombs?

All Terrorists are not Muslims but most of them are.

All Muslims are not terrorists, but some are.

In this case, do not judge even before seeing the Movie.

Muslims who have seen the Film, from Kerala and Andhra say there is no substance in these allegations.

2 a)The leader speaks Tamil though A foreigner.

So there are no Tamil Speaking Muslims who bombed in Coimbatore?

You expect a  Foreign terrorist speak in Tamil throughout the movie?

2 b) Murder is committed when some one reads The Koran?

What did the terrorists exhort when they sawed, maimed, shot people?

Watch YouTube real Videos.

They did not cry Jihad?

2 c If you are living so amiably with the Hindus in Tamil Nadu, and if they are going to change by watching this Movie, well..this is  some special relationship of Religious Amity!

2 d) We are not getting houses.

True partly.

This has nothing to do with Mr.Kamal Hassan or Mr.Kamal Hassan.

Rajnikanth The Man and Kamal Hassan the Actor

In movie-hindi on December 11, 2012 at 08:38

Rajnikanth, The Super Star, a phenomenon is turning 63 on 12 /12/12

There have been many Stars and Superstars.

Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan,Icons of Kollywood.

Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan

Yet the craze and adulation for this humble Conductor from Karnataka is unparalleled.

He may not be good Actor ,not even good-looking with very dark complexion and small eyes.

yet the Man looms large over the others.

An actor who has fan following in Jan,which none else has to the extent of what Rajini has, is a marvel.

But what makes the Man tick?

Is it his love of acting, humility or his clever choice of subjects for his Films or his very uncommon trait of understanding his weakness?

I believe it is a combination of all these.

Yet his humility and the trait of not forgetting his roots and the path he traveled makes him connect to people.

Kamal Hassan whom I happened to know in his younger days(moot point whether he will remember people) is an actor of some substance and has mass following.

Yet it can not match Rajni.

Rajnikanth

Rajnikanth

Rajni does not bother about his image , while Kamal does.

Rajni is Humane , Kamal Clever.

Kamal pontificates, Rajni connects.

Rajni lives with us in the Real world while Kamal Hassan orbits in the tinsel world.

Rajni cloaks his Wisdom under the hood of an Ignoramus, Kamal does the opposite.

Kamal speaks what the audience what the audience wants to hear while Rajni communicates with himself in Public.

Rajinikanth (born 12 December 1950 as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad) is an Indian film actor, media personality, and cultural icon.[2] He made his debut as an actor in the National Film Award–winning Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal (1975), directed by K. Balachander, whom the actor considers his mentor.[3]

After a brief phase of portraying antagonistic characters in Tamil films, he gradually rose to become an established film actor. Within a few years, he was acclaimed as the superstarof Tamil cinema and continues to hold a matinee idol status in the popular culture of India.[4] His mannerisms and stylised delivery of dialogue in films contribute to his mass popularity and appeal.[4] After being paid INR26 crore (US$5.9 million) for his role in Sivaji(2007), he became the highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan.[5][6] He was one of the most influential actors in the film industry due to his overwhelming back-driven influence onpolitics in Tamil Nadu.[4][7][8]

Rajinikanth has worked in over 150 films across various film industries of India. He has won six Tamil Nadu State Film Awards—four Best Actor Awards and two Special Awards for Best Actor—and a Filmfare Best Tamil Actor Award. He was bestowed the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honour in 2000. Other than acting, Rajinikanth has also worked as a producer and screenwriter.

Vijay’s ‘Thuppaki’ Review.

In movie-hindi on November 17, 2012 at 07:38

Vijay‘s films have not been doing well  since Pokkiri,Villu.

Nor had Murugadoss’s from Ghajini.

Thuppaki latest Stills_jpg.

Vijay in Thuppaki.

The recent Deepavali release ‘Thuppaki’ has brought cheers both to Vijay and Murugadoss.

I doubt whether any Indian Film has done as much work as Murugadoss in this Film on ‘Sleeper Cells’

The concept of ‘Sleeper Cells’ have been well-explained and the use of ordinary people being used as ‘Sleepers ‘ have been brought out excellently.

The planning of the Terrorist and the measures taken by Vijay to counter the Terrorist’s plan  are intelligent.

For a change in Tamil Films, the Hero his grey cells, instead of mere brawn.

The screen play is tight, excepting the first half where the narration is slow and there are as many as three song sequences in rapid succession.

But for the last ten minutes , the first half drags on.

However the second part is packed with action and intelligence.

The film is logical  as far as films go.

Murugadoss pays attention to details to such an extent that you find a plaster in Vijay’s hand in the last few frames where he fractured himself in a fight, this is a rarity in Tamil Films.

Dialogues are natural.

The songs are in the films seem to be forced and do not seem to jell with the flow(come to think of , which songs in recent  Films fit with the flow!)

As to Music Harris Jeya Raj churns out his stock.

The clever use of the crowd whistling and cheering in Vijay’s introduction scene is so good that I was turning around in my seat to see how many in the audience were whistling!

I often say that there are two types of back ground scores in Tamil’Indian Films.(there are exceptions)

One is where you take some time to identify the original score.

The other one is blatant to an extent that at the instance of a few bars, you can fix the source.

Harris Jeyaraj unabashedly lifts the back ground score of ‘Bourne Ultimatum!’

Locales, Editing are good without being intrusive,

This is probably a film of Vijay where the Love part is so meager and so detached you practically feel nothing despite the efforts of the girl to expose herself.

Viay has done an excellent job as an Army Man.

Dance, the forte of Vijay, is as expected of him.

Do I detect a stiffness in his limbs while dancing?

His sardonic expression while fighting the Sleepers in an effort to rescue the girls is refreshing.

Where is the famous Vijay’s mischievous Twinkle in his eyes?

A film that does not disappoint Vijay’s fans and Murugadoss buffs.

A good entertainer.

Rajni’s Kochaidayaan has Nagesh, the Unsung Thespian!

In movie-hindi, movies english, Tamils on February 29, 2012 at 10:29

Nagesh At his residence in 2005

Nagesh, a Thespian for whose Dates even Sivaji Ganesan and MGR used to wait has not been honoured properly either at the National or Regional level.

Artistes who can not even hold a candle to Nagesh have been bestowed with Padma Awards, not Nagesh.

Now the Industry is waking up to his talents after his death, that too to make money, by introducing Nagesh’s character in Rajnikanth Movie ‘Kochaidayaan’.

Will Nagesh’s Family be  paid?

It’s now confirmed that work is on to getNagesh to share screenspace with Rajinikanth, albeit through animation. The buzz earlier was that the veteran would be seen in a dual role and that the team is busy recreating two looks for Nagesh – one from his Kadhalikka Neramillai and Panchathanthiram – but now, we hear that there’s just going to be one Nagesh.

A source in the know reveals, “Work is on in full swing to recreate the image of Nagesh through graphics. He will be seen in a single, but prominent role in the film. Since the film is going to be made using motion capture technology, the team is planning to use the technology to its fullest extent.”
