No Muhammad No Coke

In Islam on May 14, 2013 at 08:57

Coca-Cola said it would have been “too provocative” to include Muhammad in a Swedish publicity campaign in which the US beverage giant replaced its curlicue logo with some of the most common names of young Swedes.

Why can’t the Advertisement agencies leave Islam alone?

Story:

As part of a Europe-wide campaign, Swedish consumers will get to buy 115 million Coca-Cola bottles that will be relabeled to be called Daniel, Emma, and Johan, among other names plucked from a list of most common names among young Swedes.

Yet despite being among the list of popular names among young men in Sweden, Muhammad isn’t among the names chosen for the Coca-Cola campaign

“Symbolically, Coca-Cola is very much associated with the US. We discussed this internally before launching the campaign, and also spoke with the Islamic Association in Sweden,” the company’s Swedish marketing manager Gustaf Wetterwik told the Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) newspaper.

“In the end, we came to the conclusion that it was less provocative not to include the name than to have it on such a US-associated product.”

Wetterwik added that they did not want to use the name of the Muslim prophet in a commercial context. The company also deselected the names Max and Felix due to trademark considerations – Max is a hamburger chain in Sweden while Felix is a line of frozen foods and condiments.

The “Share a Coca-Cola with” campaign chose a selection of names that were the most common among Swedes aged 12 to 29, using information from Statistics Sweden (Statistiska centralbyrånSCB).

More than 2,000 men are called Muhammad in Sweden, while the alternative spellings Mohammed is used by almost 9,000 and Mohamed by more than 10,000. In comparison, there are 173,243 Johans in the country, while there are more than 71,000 Emmas.

Coca-Cola was launched in Sweden in 1953 and the company today employs 800 people in Sweden.

The Report has been submitted to the Government on Monday.

Story:

The parent must also have been registered as a legal resident in Sweden and hold a valid residence permit.

The inquiry also suggests that immigrants who learn the language to a certain level of proficiency, such as passing the highest level of Swedish for immigrants language classes, can qualify for citizenship one year earlier than they can today, Gunnar Strömmer, the author of the inquiry’s findings, wrote in an opinion article published in the Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper.

The report will be submitted to the government on Monday.

Strömmer added that foreign-born parents who fulfill the requirements but don’t want their children to automatically become Swedish citizens could apply to prevent it from happening.

Today, children born in Sweden to parents who aren’t Swedish citizens assume the citizenship of their parents.

“It’s desirable that all children who are born in Sweden and who are expected to grow up here should also be citizens here,” Strömmer wrote in DN.

Church Issues Sex Diplomas.

In Christianity, Interesting and funny, Sex on March 17, 2013 at 18:30

In a bizarre case a Church was found  issuing Sex Diplomas to Teens in Sweden!

‘A “shagging diploma” given to youths at a Church of Sweden confirmation camp proved too much for parents who complained Wednesday that their 14-year-olds were too young for sex.

What to comment?

After attending a course entitled “Love and Sexuality”, the teenagers in the southeastern town of Rödeby were given a certificate and badge stating they were “qualified for sex”.

Vicar Mats-Ola Nylen said the course had been organized by a man purporting to come from the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU), but the church later found out he hadn’t worked for the organization in years.

Suspicions were raised after parents complained to Nylen about the certificates, referred to as “knullborgarmärke”, saying their teenage children weren’t ready for sex.

They were also upset over the use of colloquial phrases like “giving someone a blow job“.

“The whole camp revolves around different aspects of friendships and relationships,” Nylen told AFP, adding that he felt betrayed by the man, who wore a t-shirt from RFSU at the event which took place over the weekend.

“In the past, young people have complained that the Church doesn’t talk about these issues.”

The vicar had asked to listen in on the session but had been asked to stay away by the man, who said having the vicar there would have had an “inhibitive” effect on participants.

Giving 14-year-olds a certificate saying they were ready to “shag” was sending a mixed message, Nylen said.

“Under Swedish law you don’t have a right to engage in sexual activities until you’re 15,” he noted.”

Swedes Hit By Porn Bills, Blackmailed Into Paying

In Interesting and funny, Sex on March 17, 2013 at 18:00

There are fakes and blackmails.

You combine this two, add Porn into the mix, there you have it.

Porn Bill.

Porn Bill.

The Swedes have been hit by Porn Bills, that too fake Bills at that.

They were also warned  that if they do not pay up, there surfing details would be made Public.

Police in Blekinge, south Sweden, have received over 3,000 reports about the company’s fake porn surfing bills from people around the country.

The invoices threaten to expose the recipients as porn surfers if they don’t pay.

The company behind the invoices in on the warning list of the Swedish Trade Federation (Svensk Handels).

“This is a form of blackmail. They send an SMS to them claiming they’ve been porn surfing and write something like ‘if you don’t pay we’re going to expose you as a porn surfer on our website’,” Per Geijer, head of security at the trade federation, told the TT news agency.

Billy Ingemarsson, head of the Blekinge police’s IT crimes unit, told Sveriges Radio (SR) the current wave of complaints is the highest number of reports that have been filed with the Blekinge police, which may need to call in extra staff to deal with the case.

“We’re getting between 15 and 25 reports every day,” he told the broadcaster.

Ingemarsson is leading the investigation and said the company may be prosecuted over fraud, attempted blackmail and crimes against the Debt Recovery Act.”

If the companies blackmail this way, what is the way out?

This is not most people’s idea of a good time—getting bombarded with messages from porn producers seeking payment for nonexistent downloads.

Alison Frankel, who writes for Thomson Reuters, recently wrote anarticle about Jennifer Barker, a Louisville, Kentucky woman who says she never watched a bunch of movies she’s been billed for.

According to the article, she’s “one of tens of thousands people who’ve received settlement demands from porn movie producers and their lawyers in the last few years”.

To get even, Barker has filed a claim of class-action fraud, defamation and racketeering against Patrick Collins Inc., Malibu Media, Raw Films, K-Beech, and Third Degree Films.

According to Frankel’s piece, this is what the allegations include:

“In effect, the pornography purveyors have developed a new business model using the court system to extort money from individuals who are merely identified by IP address and with no proof whatsoever that they downloaded copyrighted materials from the Internet…By extorting settlements of $1,000-$5,000 the pornography purveyors have developed a model whereby they can unlawfully gain more money than they can by selling access to their pornographic videos.”

Order Sex On Line

Order Sex On Line

“The man, reported as being in his fifties, has been held on remand on suspicions of instigating child rape.

The man is suspected of having paid Filipino women to sexually assault children in front of their webcams, while he watched from home in Sweden.

“He has been sitting home in front of his computer, connected to the internet, and made contact with women in the Philippines,” said Liz Berglund of the National Bureau of Investigation (Rikskriminalpolisen)to Sveriges Radio (SR).

“He has paid them to get children, and then they’ve connected web cameras and then the women have, according to his demands, assaulted the children while he sat home watching.”

The children involved were often family members or neighbours of the women, who sometimes even took the kids out of school to perform when they were short of money.

This case is unique in Sweden, although police suspect that the crime itself is nothing new.

“This is the first time someone has been revealed in such a case in Sweden but he is probably not the first to do this.”

When probed as to why the remanded man hadn’t simply flown to the Philippines, Berglund explained it was likely a question of cost.

“It’s cheaper this way; you don’t need to pay the airfare. There are people in poor countries who are prepared to do these kind of things for money. When we ask them what they do with the money, they often answer ‘We buy rice’,” Berglund said.
