Short Forms used in Messages and Texting are really difficult

. The keys are so small you tend to press the wrong one.

Result ‘hilarity!

Some time it might be due to talking or writing in a flash.

With the same results.

Couple of days ago, I had to use the Call Center of Eureka Forbes for a defective water purifier.

Despite three reminders, no body bothered, worse, they kept on asking the same information I have provided already.

I was annoyed and wanted to tell them that the conversations are being recorded, and instead using them to find faults with the Girls who makes calls(TeleCallers), the Organisation might listen to it for understanding the customer.

I ended up saying,

‘ ‘I know the conversation is being recorded. Instead of trying to find fault with the Call Girls, one might attend to understand the Customers!”

Teens new Syndrome Sleeptexting

In Health, lifestyle on February 13, 2013 at 20:12

Dating had been a problem , to handle it, it was accepted, thinking it is solved(people would say ”What problems?)

Then ‘Drugs’, partly solved , but Marijuana has been legalised with ingenious arguments>

Now comes “Sleep Texting

One has to learn to live with it, unless Teens understand that it is a problem;

Any way Psychiatrists will have a roaring business!

Sleep Texting

Sleep Texting

Teenagers are prolific texters. But now’s there’s evidence that they are even doing it in their sleep.

It’s called sleep texting.

“It’s just what you’d think it is, it’s texting while asleep,” says Elizabeth Dowdell, nursing professor at Villanova University, “It’s exactly what is sounds like, or really more between that, you know, that area between being asleep and being awake.”

“The phone will beep, they’ll answer the text,” Dowdell says. “They’ll either respond in words or gibberish. (It) can even be inappropriate. Ex-girlfriends contacting ex-boyfriends, saying ‘I miss you. I want to see you.’ The thing that happens, though, is that when they wake up, there’s no memory.”

Dowdell says teens should get eight, nine or ten hours of sleep a night.

“Overplugged and overextended teens and young adults tend to get less than that,” she says, “so this interrupts what could be a good night’s sleep, because they’re an hour-and-a-half or two hours into their sleep cycle, and they’re answering texts or the machines are beeping at them.”

Dowdell says sleep interruption can lead to obesity, depression, failing grades and more.

She says the answer is a technology-free bedroom, or, at the very least, putting the phone on the other side of the room, and turning off the ringer.

Magic Pen Transfers Notes to Computer, Phones.

In Gadgets on October 5, 2012 at 19:14

Recorder is this magic pen that converts your written notes into electronic files and then transfers it to your phone and computer via Bluetooth. I think it’s a great idea and can actually encourage us writers to take to the book and pen more often. I bet authors and illustrators will love it too! My only wish – it auto spell checks the files.

Twitter ‘Uncooperative’ On Assam Tweets On Violence and SMS

If it were China , it would have hit Twitter before it knew what had hit it.Social Media must be socially responsible.

Freedom of Expressiondoes mean irresponsibility.

Government should come down heavily on Twitter.

If need be, India can be without Twitter.

Story:

Twitter might face legal action if the popular microblogging site does not comply with Indian government‘s demand to censor objectionable content posted by its users.

Stung by the misinformation campaign thatspread like wildfire through SMS, Facebook,YouTube and Twitter in past weeks, the Indian government now seems to be moving ahead with its initial threat to tighten the noose around social media.

Indicating this, a senior government official has said that Twitter has already been told that legal action may be taken against it as it had failed to cooperate with the Indian government in its efforts to find the source of and curtail the inflammatory messages against north-east citizens.

Other websites, such as Facebook and YouTube have confirmed to the Indian government that the hate content against the people from north-eastern India had originated fromPakistan. However, they have said they cannot take direct action against such sites. But since both Google (parent of YouTube) and Facebook have offices in India, it will be easier for the government sleuths to work with them.

However, India has reportedly faced a tardy response from Twitter, partly because the company doesn’t have presence in India. The response from the US company to block ‘objectionable content’ is reported to be ‘poor’.

Is this drug real or counterfeit? SMS text with Pharma Secure to find out #mhs09 (Photo credit: Wayan Vota)

Some times the batch Number and the Manufacturing/Expiry Date Stampings are smudged.

To help one in this respect,’The DGFT has made it mandatory for medicines that are exported from India to have barcodes entailing unique product identification code, unique serial number, batch number and expiry date from July 1, 2011. The deadline on the mandate has been extended to July 2012.”

As most of the Drugs manufactured in India , we in India can make use of this Service.

“Thanks to the mandate—and PharmaSecure–consumers can now instantly validate drugs by texting the 9 digit alpha-numeric code printed on the packs to the number provided alongside (for example: SMS gejr887zd to +91 99010.99010for drug authenticity).

Once an inquiry is received, PharmaSecure sends an SMS back to the consumer on behalf of the original drug manufacturer, with information about the authentication of the drug, expiry dates and manufacturing details, within a few seconds. The information that a customer receives can be customized by drug manufacturers.

“SMS is a low cost, direct to end-users, and fast option. Mobiles in India are effective as people from rural India, tier two and tier three cities are fairly comfortable using it,” says Nakul Pasricha, director of operations, PharmaSecure Product Authentication Services, India.

The PharmaSecure system is currently capable of handling 50 authentication requests per second, that is, more than four million requests per day. The systems are scalable to roll out and handle more than a trillion codes.

Mayur Danait, CIO of Lupin, which is one of the first companies to use PharmaSecure, says installing PharmaSecure for printing barcodes isn’t a Herculean task. All that manufacturers need to do is install PharmaSecure’s software–which is compatible with most of the leading printers in India–and a scanner at the end of the assembly line.

Here’s how it works: The manufacturing company purchases inactive bar codes from PharmaSecure. PharmaSecure’s software components interact with the printing software and printers on the production unit and print the codes on the drug packs. A scanner on the assembly line scans the barcodes that have already been printed on the packs of drugs.”
