Let LTTE murder their own cadre and escape ,
Were involved in Rajiv Gandhi’s Killing,
Who incited mobs against the Sikhs,
But ?

2 G CBI Drops Mittal Name, More To Follow On Coal Gate.
It is quite some time that I wrote on 2G, as there was a lull.
But I was sure the news will pick up as the Elections draw near.
One is necessity of Funds for The election and the other for Poll Alliances.
The first is to fill up the party’s Coffers and the second to cajole or blackmail the allies or would be allies.
It is learnt that the CBI has dropped the Name of Mittal from the charge sheet on the 2 G case.
There is another news that the CBI officials met with the powers Be and the PMO and the law Ministry whetted the Chargesheet on Coalgate.
Isn’t the Supreme Court of India monitoring the 2G case?

The CBI has come under fire following allegations that its former director A P Singh ordered the name of billionaire telecom tycoon Sunil Bharti Mittal to be dropped from the investigation into the 2G spectrum allocation scandal.
The Telecom Watchdog moving the Supreme Court (SC) against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for not including the billionaire’s name in the charge sheet.
Telecom Watchdog in its affidavit has alleged that former CBI director AP Singh overruled the CBI’s investigating team to drop Mittal’s name from the case merely a week before his retirement.
Teelcom Watchdog secretary Anil Kumar told Mail Today that the case would come up for hearing in the apex court on Monday and heard along with the bail plea filed by Mittal in the SC.
The NGO has submitted photocopies of what it claims to be CBI’s documents to back its charge. It has alleged that the CBI team had gathered evidence to show that Mittal had played crucial role in getting the excess spectrum for Bharti Cellular, which is now known as Bharti Airtel, in 2002, when late Pramod Mahajan was the telecom minister and Shyamal Ghosh the telecom secretary.
Telecom Watchdog has also alleged that CBI special director V K Gupta, who was in charge of the investigation, has in a letter to the new director Ranjit Sinha stated that he was kept out of the loop as the file was not put up to him at the crucial last stage.

The CBI is in the process of filing an affidavit before the apex court accepting that the status report it filed last month had been vetted by both the law ministry as well as the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
This is in response to the Supreme Court asking the CBI director to state in an affidavit that the report had not been “shared with the political executive”.
The CBI deserves praise for its move to come clean before the judiciary.
Officials of the agency had resisted the law ministry’s efforts to change its contents but were prevailed upon to tone down the status report.
While this may be explainable given the present system under which the agency functions, the CBI will be doing the cause of probity great service by accepting as much under oath.
Such an admission is sure to bring the spotlight back on the United Progressive Alliance government which has consistently denied any wrongdoing even as it has been embroiled in a series of corruption scandals in recent years.

to man, arm twisting and pure criminal intent.
Radia Tapes, Depositions by every one high and low, Court Strictures, jailing of Raja and Kanimozhi and of course of their release, murder of a witness close to the deal, location and identification of the Money trail…
Now the deposition by the then Attorney General that the issue of allotting the Licences to first come-first served,the alteration of the Press Note cleared by The AG……
Of what use and to what end?
I posted a blog on ‘Hitler‘s Germany, Photo Essay’ which drew a comment that it was horrible that an event could take place like this.
My reply was ‘It is a sin to be indifferent when inhuman acts are done and in such a situation, people should have reacted against Hitler which they did not.
World War II and the Holocaust was the Result.
The other side is that when people in Power allow things to drift as the Weimar Republic had done in Germany then people yearn for an alternative even if they were aware they were descending towards Inhumanity, they welcome it, ‘as in Hitler’s case.
By allowing the Corrupt free as in India, we are escalating a situation as those in Germany prior to Hitler and the French Revolution of 1789.

Attorney General Goolam E Vahanvati told the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday that a Department of Telecommunications press release inviting applications for spectrum allocation in 2008 cleared by him was altered by Telecommunications Minister A Raja before it was issued. Vahanvati was the solicitor general at the time.
According to JPC chairman P C Chacko, the Attorney General also asserted that there had been no discussions between him and the minister, as claimed by the latter. Vahanvati told the committee that the changes in the first-come-first-served policy were never discussed with him and he had nothing to do with the allocation of 2G spectrum licences.
Vahanvati stated during his deposition that then telecom secretary Siddharth Behura had brought the file related to the press note pertaining to the policy, on grant of Unified Access Service licences, to him on January 7, 2008, and sought his opinion on the factual status about any stay in court on the issue of letter of intent. He had offered opinion on the “premise of trust”, Vahanvati said. However, he was not aware of the amendments subsequently made in the press note issued on January 10, 2008.
Chacko said, “That amendment… which had led to a qualitative change in the selection process was not known to the Attorney General.” Vahanvati, according to him, “conceded that he could not disagree that his trust was belied”.

2G is an out dated Technology, where you can not transfer data like SMS and we now have 3G raging in the market.
The band now is 1800 Megahertz , while 900 Megahertz is not auctioned at all.
For non technical idiots like me, this means,the loin cloth that has been superseded by Sarong,is ignored and now the High end X front underwear has come into the market.
Why would some one buy a Loin Cloth?
Even then, the present auction fetched 9400 Crore for 22 Licences while Raja’s first come first served brought not even this much for 122 licences!
The Government knew that the technology is out dated so much that they did not auction 900 mega Hertz as they knew it would be a Dud.
Again to justify their stand that there was no loss, they have deliberately auctioned this now and the Corporate cooperated by forming a cartel to quote a lower price;even then greed out stripped manipulation and the present auction brought in 9400 Crore!

.The Centre on Thursday justified in the Supreme Court non-auctioning of 900 MHz spectrum in 2G licences on November 12 along with 1800 and 800 MHz spectrum as it was not the subject matter of 122 licences which were cancelled pursuant to the February 2 judgment.
In an affidavit, the Telecom Secretary R. Chandrasekhar said “no spectrum in the 900 MHz band was put to auction pursuant to the judgment of this Court because no spectrum in the said band of 900 MHz was subject matter of the judgment dated February 2 and further, in any event, there is no available spectrum in this band of 900 MHz. The entire 25 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz band available for communication purposes is being fully utilized.”
The Centre gave a chart of licences with date of issue and period of expiry to drive home the point that at the time of expiry from 2014, the band 900 MHz would be available for fresh auction. It said “the spectrum that has been put to auction now is in terms of the final decision taken by the Central Government after duly considering the recommendations of TRAI, Redistribution of 900 MHz spectrum among all the GSM operators would mean fragmenting the spectrum below 5 MHz block. The 900MHz band is valuable from 3G point of view and utilising it for 2G purposes would mean uneconomic use of a valuable commodity.
NDTV 2 G Money Laundering IT Case, Docs.
The Income Tax Commissioner SK Srivastava files an application in the Patiala House Courts pointing out the money laundering apparatus of NDTV.

This allegation links NDTV with Chidambaram and says that NDTV was involved in money laundering to the tune of Rs 2000 crores in the 2G scam!

‘An application filed in the CBI court alleges involvement of NDTV and P Chidambaram in bribe and money laundering of Rs. 2,000 crores in 2G scam. They also state misuse and abuse of power. The application was filed in Patiala House Courts by an IT Commissioner, SK Srivastava. It states that a dummy company of NDTV at Holland is being used for alleged money laundering via Mauritius back to India.’

NDTV has filed , it CEO said
“NDTV has reacted to these charges as baseless and has filed a defamation suit against the person who filed the application. “NDTV has just filed a defamation suit against a man making wild allegations about NDTV – and about “prostitution in the IT dept,” tweeted Vikrama Chandra, CEO of NDTV.”
Seems nothing has come out of it till date.
Why is it that Media has not followed up this case as vigorously as it does the other scams?
