Know The Seeds of Pumpkin without Breaking, Tamil

 

I had blogged on the antiquity of the Tamil Language , its rich culture and its scientific approach every thing.

 

Tamil Land was demarcated into six zones and relevant details were assigned to each of them, which is not found in any other Literature.

One other Sangam period work’ கணக்கதிகாரம்” by Kari Nayanar of  Korkkiyaar abounds in Mathematical Formulae.

 

One such is the Calculation for finding the number of seeds in a Pumpkin.

 

“கீற்றெண்ணி முத்தித்துத் கீழாறினால் மாறி

வேற்றையஞ்சு தன்னில் மிகப்பெருக்கிப் பார்த்ததிலே

பாதி தள்ளி மூன்றிற் பகிர விதையாகும்
பூசணிக்காய் தோறும் புகல்”

Count the number of Slices visible in the Pumpkin

Multiply it by 3, 6 and 5.

Divide the result by 2

Multiply this result by 3.

This is the number of seeds per Slice.

For the number of seeds multiply this by the number of slices visible in the Pumpkin.
