We have a crook in Atlanta professing to be a Swami and cheating People in the name of Hinduism, charging anywhere between $ 499 onwards(Bata price tag?).

Alcohol, beer and meat,  all allowed in the premised.

He is gracious enough to prohibit drugs.

Time that Indians in US chucked him out.

He brings discredit to Hinduism.

Good Indian organisations in the US should file a case against him for hurting religious sentiments  and make sure he is sent to police custody.

For Non-Hindus.

Please do not trust these self-styled God men.

Hinduism, in fact, prohibits such acts as claiming to cure illness and personal problems by paying money.

Please read Hindu Religious texts available in the internet.

No doubt a Guru is recommended.

A Guru will reach out to you if your search is honest and sincere.

He will not proclaim HE IS A Guru nor will he advertise.

Please read my blog on Guru,Acharya filed under ‘Hinduism’ and other blogs filed in the same category.

Story:

ATLANTA (MyFOX Atlanta) — A million dollar mansion — luxury cars — and a religious leader who promises to heal the sick for a price. If you think you know where this story’s going — hold on.

I-Team reporter Randy Travis says chances are you’ve never met a preacher like this.

ATLANTA (MyFOX Atlanta) — For leaders of the Hindu faith, the temple grounds are sacred.

No alcohol or meat allowed on the premises. But some priests say they routinely had to clean up beer and meat after parties at the Hindu Temple of Georgia.

And as I-Team reporter Randy Travis discovered in his special report, that’s just the beginning

Sri Vana Durga Dhevada Maharishi Sri.Chinnappa “Siddhar” Leading press articles of ‘Sri Selvam siddhar” (Commander Selvam)” from United States Of America. * Vedic Astrology * Indian Vaasthu * Alternative Medicine * Prevent & Destroy Evil Powers,Black Magic, Jadoo,Voodoo *”Siddha” Medicine Page 1 Continue: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

I have that the cause for the raise and fall of governments are also due to black magic.(Commander Selvam Annamalai is an astrologer gemologist and a practitioner of Atharvana Vedha in the United States and India.)

Dr. Selvam, an Athervana Vedha practitioner, believes he has the knowledge to cure problems ranging from backaches to marital conflicts. Selvam is a doctorate scholar and gold medallist from the Sri Meenakshi Institute of Vedhic Studies. In the United States and Canada, he is the only Atharva Veda spiritual healer, and his astrological services, prayers, poojas, Akasthiya Healings and detection and prevention of evil powers be used by over 4,500 families and ninety one US Corporations. Selvam’s studies have lead him to believe that of the four Vedhas, Athervana Vedha is the most effective in helping people better themselves, because it deals with the facts of day to day life.

A desire to avoid the facts of life is also the reason Selvam believes, Athervana Vedha has not been studied as extensively as the other Vedhas. He is only among 200 other scholars worldwide who have devoted themselves to learning the Atharvana Vedha. The practice of Atharvana Vedha includes chanting moola mantras, administering herbal medicines, reading astrology and palms, forecasting the future and performing poojas to Goddesses. According to Selvam, one of the facts of life that is hardest for people to accept is that humans are not controlled by Gods but rather by the planets. Selvam says the position of the planets control Gods, humans and all living creatures proper consultation can counteract any problems planetary alignments may cause. He believes Aadhi Aathmikam, problems caused by our mind and heavenly souls can be identified by astrologers with the help of the position of the planets.

Dr. Commander Selvam is a divine personality and the only doctor of ” Atharva Veda ‘ in North America and the only Atharva Veda Indian scholar for astrology, siddha Healings (ancient style), Vaasthu.

DR. COMMANDER SELVAM THANKS ONE AND ALL FOR THE EXCELLENT RESPONSE TO MY LAST WEEKS ARTICLE FROM THE READERS OF INDIA POST.

Online Learning-Is it as Good as Regular Courses?Higher Education.

In Education on August 30, 2011 at 10:27

Online study is great in that it opens one to unlimited resources, yet at the same time tends to increase plagiarism.

It also confuses one as to which is the authentic information.

elearning icon.

However personal interaction between the teacher and the pupil is more preferable as it helps to encourage the pupil to find the relevant material, organise apart from the inculcation of moral values in the pupil.

Please read my blogs on Guru,Acharya, Teacher filed under ‘Hinduism‘, ‘Education’

The following report cover everything from the perceptions of the public and college presidents about the value of online learning, the prevalence and future of online courses, use of digital textbooks, the internet and plagiarism, and technology use in the classroom, as well as college presidents’ own use of technology.

For instance: About half of college presidents (51%) say an online course provides an equal educational value to one taken in a classroom; just three-in-ten American adults (29%) agree. (Do you?)

More than three-quarters of college presidents (77%) report that their institutions now offer online courses, and college presidents predict substantial growth in online learning: 15% say most of their current undergraduate students have taken a class online, 50% predict that ten years from now most of their students will take classes online.

Other findings include:

  • Most college presidents (55%) say that plagiarism in students’ papers has increased over the past 10 years. Among those who have seen an increase in plagiarism, 89% say computers and the internet have played a major role.
  • The leaders of the nation’s colleges and universities are a tech-savvy group. Nearly nine-in-ten (87%) use a smartphone daily, 83% use a desktop computer and 65% use a laptop.
  • College presidents are ahead of the curve on some of the newer digital technologies: Fully half (49%) use a tablet computer such as an iPad at least occasionally, and 42% use an e-reader such as a Kindle or Nook.
  • 15% of college presidents say most of their current undergraduate students have taken a class online, and 50% predict that 10 years from now most of their students will take classes online.
  • Nearly two-thirds of college presidents (62%) anticipate that 10 years from now, more than half of the textbooks used by their undergraduate students will be entirely digital.

The report is based on findings from two Pew Research Center surveys: a national poll of the general public, and a survey of college presidents done in association with The Chronicle of Higher Education. Bhagavad Gita Happened-External Evidence.

In Uncategorized on August 30, 2011 at 10:03
A portrayal of Vyasa, who is revered by Hindus...

Image via Wikipedia

Before getting into evidence in Tamil  Literature, a few words on the probability of Srimad Bhagavad Gita having happened.

The Mahabharata has many versions in all the languages of India (in about 23 languages, apart from about 1230 dialects , where The Mahabharata is passed by word of mouth).

The language of people from different parts of the country is different, literature is different.

Yet the basics of The Mahabharata  is the same in all versions.

One has to remember that India has not been a Unified Country then ; there was no central authority to control the educational system.

Every one has the freedom to write what they believed in.

Yet Mahabharata essentials remain the same.

Also note that there are Jain and Buddhist versions as well, the Religions which do not believe in authority of the Vedas.

They also agree on the basics of The Mahabharata.

How is it possible?

Have the people of different periods, languages and beliefs suddenly decided to spin a yarn?

It does not stand to reason.

Only reason that appears is that the Mahabharata is true, so by extension The Gita.

I am reminded of ‘Cho‘ ,who pertinently asked in a serial in Tamil ‘Enge Brahmanan?’_Where is the Brahmin?, where he says ‘ we have not seen our great grand father, can we deny his existence?

We can go further deep into this, but it will lead to Hindu Epistemology, which is not in the scope of this blog.

Suffice to say that this is common sense.

Now let us examine what Tamil has to say on this.

Evidence of a Pandya King being present in Swamvara is found in  Mahabharata

(i-189.7020)

There are innumerable references in The Mahabharata to Tamils and vice versa.

…………to be continued.
