News Flash-Lokayukta Names Yeddiurappa in Illegal Mining.

The Lokayukta has named Yeddiurappa , Chief Minister of Karnataka and has recommended probe about his involvement.

The Lokayukta has recommended a probe into his role and that of his four ministerial colleagues with regard to illegal mining in the state.

The report by Lokayukta Santosh Hegde, which is to be submitted soon, has also sought an investigation into the role of former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Anil Lad, sources told PTI.

If Lokayukta names the Reddy brothers, the report will be examined by the government,” Yeddyurappa said.

2 G Scam-Raja to implicate PM Manmohan Singh.

Sources have disclosed to Headlines to-day that Raja has decided to defend himself  in the Court.

He is expected to reveal the correspondence he had with Manmohan Singh and other top functionaries of UPA.

He expects to prove that all decisions were taken with the approval of Manmohan Singh in the 2 G scam.

Story:

It is believed that Raja would reveal crucial correspondences between him, Singh and top functionaries in the UPA government. He was all set to tell the court that everything was done in the know of the prime minister and that the latter had approved Raja’s moves.

Source said Raja was being persuaded by some other 2G accused not to defend himself. He however decided against it.

Raja’s defence would revolve around the fact that the correspondence with the PM as late as on December 26, 2007, which clearly shows that the latter was aware that Raja was going ahead with the auction on January 10, 2008.

Raja might claim that he had held consultations with then foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee and then solicitor general Ghoolam Vahanvati on the plan to go ahead with the first-cum-first-served basis.

Osana Bin Laden Fought Fiercely with SEALs.

It appears that Al Qaeda wants to impress on its followers who are justly disappointed that their Boss has surrendered meekly by putting out a story that he had fought valiantly.

A new edition of Al Qaeda‘s official magazine claims that Osama bin Laden fought back in a “vicious battle” with the U.S. Navy SEALs before his death in May.

“He confronted them, his weapons against theirs with his, and his strength against theirs, and he accepted the challenge of those who came out with their fancy equipment, machinery, weapons, aircrafts and troops, all haughty and pompous,” the magazine, Inspire, said in a eulogy for the al Qaeda leader. “His determination did not weaken in front of them, nor was he sapped of strength. Rather, he stood and confronted them face to face like a firm mountain, and continued to engage them in a fierce battle… after which he excused himself and fulfilled the trust, receiving bullets of treachery and infidelity.”

The account, which is attributed to the al Qaeda organization, appears to contradict the White House version of events in which bin Laden did “resist” the SEALs, but was unarmed when he was killed.
