Of what use are the institutions that should have warned people in advance and evacuated them?
Is the money invested is a waste or scientists are pretending more than they know about tsunami and earthquakes?
We seem to be in the same position of Cave dwellers as far as prediction of these phenomena are concerned.
Scientists-Can you predict these, yes or No?

Checkmate!-Plight of Sri Lankan Tamils.
In India, Sri Lanka, Tamils on February 20, 2010 at 10:53India,apart from the assassination of RAJIV Gandhi, has other serious concern in intervening on behalf of Tamils in Sri Lanka;that is the formation of Tamil ELAM might embolden the separatist tendencies in Tamil Nadu to call for a separate State and the oft repeated declaration of Tamil Nadu politicians and Srilankan Tamil leaders of forming a grand Tamil State annexing Tamil Nadu from India.
The majority of Tamils in Sri Lanka do not seem to support this view.;only politicians are harping on this proposal.
India must intervene , along with Major powers to secure a just solution of granting equal Rights for Tamils and organise for a set up in which Tamils enjoy autonomy under a federal structure.China will thwart this move as the present uncertainty helps it strategically in the Indian Ocean.
If India procastinates its impact may be felt in Tamil Nadu.
SRI Lankan Govt, is quietly and systematically wiping out Tamil populatioan and also settling Sinhalese In Tamil areas.
Time India acted or it may have to face a back lash in Tamil Nadu
Story:
Somebody once said democracy is the right to choose your dictator. For the minority Tamils in Sri Lanka, the presidential election in late January presented such a baffling dilemma. Should they vote for the man who ordered a bloody war on their homeland or for the military general who actually led the troops into their fields? In the end most Tamils stayed home on the poll day unable to fathom who was the lesser evil.
Their paralysis helped the political commander. President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who had gambled by calling a snap election two years ahead of schedule, won a decisive mandate to run the island nation for another six years starting November 2010. The Sinhalese majority rewarded him for vanquishing the once invincible Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a ruthless guerrilla force that led a separatist campaign in the Tamil parts for more than three decades.
